This is a live jazz gig listings service from Jazz in Reading. We feature mostly modern jazz gigs happening within 20 miles or so of Reading.

The listings used to be published monthly, under the name 'Jazz Round About Reading', but all gigs now appear in the calendar, the link for which is below left. Check it out whenever you feel the urge to hear live jazz. Don't forget to refresh your browser each time you visit, to be sure of catching all latest changes or additions. Please check with venues before setting off - all details may be subject to change.

Musicians, promoters and venues should send their gig information to us via the Submit Your Gig form. Please note that the details you submit will be checked and edited before being approved for publication. We reserve the right to make amendments before publication if we consider the content inappropriate or inaccurate.

MOBO nominated musician Rod Youngs celebrates the music of the iconic Blue Note Record label. Rod has established himself as one of the most expressive and versatile drummers on the contemporary music scene. For over two decades his approach to music has covered a wide spectrum of genres while remaining firmly rooted in the jazz tradition.  Rod is joined by the incomparable Denys Baptiste, a legend of British jazz and one of the most sought-after saxophonists in the country. The first in a new series of monthly lunchtime trio jazz concerts at Guildford Institute in the heart of Guildford. Lunch is available from 12 to 2pm, and the performance is a single one-hour set from 2 to 3pm. This opening concert features the pianist and composer Terence Collie with Sophie Alloway on drums and Marianne Windham on bass. With sold-out shows in 2024 at prestigious venues like the 606 Club and Pizza Express Jazz Club Terence Collie captivates audiences with his virtuosity and innovative compositions.  “Goddess of groove” Sophie Alloway has played drums for all the finalists in the BBC Young Jazz Musician 2024.

The Andy Kennedy Quartet is a contemporary jazz group appearing regularly at gigs in Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
